British Airways to provide no-cost fast in-flight connectivity through space-based deal

Travelers flying with the airline are set to use high-speed connectivity during flights without charge following a new agreement with Elon Musk's satellite company.

Complimentary and High-speed Connectivity for All

The airline stated that the no-cost, “fast and dependable” connectivity service via the satellite provider becomes available to travelers in coach, business, or premium cabins starting the coming month.

Widespread Deployment Throughout Multiple Carriers

The umbrella firm for the airline, IAG, confirmed it had reached an partnership with the satellite firm to offer wifi access on 500-plus planes operated by its carriers, such as the Irish airline, the Spanish carrier, and Vueling.

Uninterrupted Internet starting at Gate to Arrival

The airline noted that the implementation for this technology formed part of a £7bn “modernization” plan that will provide smooth connectivity access for passengers starting at the gate through landing, including when they are flying across oceans or remote regions.

Customers will be able to hook up multiple gadgets and won't need to have to use a special login.
