National Football League Showdown: Vikings Challenge Browns at Tottenham in the Fifth Week Fixture
Notable Safety Josh Metellus Expresses Thoughts on Unique UK Vibe
Selected in 2020, the Vikings safety is gearing up to play his fourth international game, even though the Vikings suffered a loss in Dublin previously. Earlier, they won in both their prior visits to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The athlete emphasized, "We've got to maintain that momentum," noting his eagerness for another London game.
"Typically, when you play, the fans display identical jerseys, but while heading to the arena at Spurs' ground, I spotted around thirty-two different uniforms—I observed every team," commented the 27-year-old safety.
"I thought 'oh my, I thought it was a Minnesota match.' But that was impressive to observe, fans just adore NFL. I encountered a bunch of varied individuals of every type, who liked the match and the festivities beforehand. You don't necessarily have to support a specific team, you know. It's just enjoying the sport and becoming a fan."
On whether that created a unique atmosphere: "Absolutely. The people out in London perform wonderfully of bringing the energy. Whatever squad displays the most energy can gain an advantage and rally the spectators, so yeah, it certainly creates a memorable event. It's reminiscent of a university playoff. It's a unbiased location where it could go either way, contingent on momentum and similar factors."
"I greatly enjoy the stadium," he continued. "It seems like a ideal location to compete abroad. The changing facility's nice, the atmosphere when you enter, it feels like the attention is focused on you. I'm a big fan of competing at venues that feel good, particularly those that we triumph at!"
