Reigning Sabalenka Wins Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Accolades.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.
The 27-year-old won four titles – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Season of Dominance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka competed in a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also triumphed at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Record-Breaking Achievements
Sabalenka concluded the season with a 63-12 win-loss record, and picked up a record £11m in earnings.
She received nearly 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.
Later this month, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "help bring women's tennis to a higher level".
