An teenage youth has been sentenced to life incarceration with a base duration of 16 years for the murder of other student the victim during a lunch break.

Mohammed Umar Khan knifed the deceased, also aged fifteen, into the cardiac area with a hunting knife at the educational institution in February.

Harvey's mother stated she felt "as if a big burden has been removed off my person" following the sentencing.

Witnesses recounted a situation of "chaos", with those present "running, screaming all around" during the aggressive encounter.

Judicial Proceedings

During the trial, the accused claimed he had not intended to kill the victim or cause him serious harm, asserting he could not recollect what had occurred.

The prosecution maintained that he had "intended to show he was hard" and "knew exactly what he was doing".

"You served as the provoker and... you behaved in hurt and fury at what you regarded to be his betrayal of your friendship," declared the judge during the judgment.

Aftermath

All Saints Catholic High School published a statement expressing that the pupil was "greatly mourned every day by the complete school community".

Police officials stressed the tragic results of bearing blades, noting that a "instantaneous decision" can permanently change multiple lives.
